There are some fantastic apartments and studios on Kalymnos, from the very basic, (but good value) to high quality apartments for you to consider, all of them very close to the wonderful Kalymnian beaches and great value restaurants and tavernas which are dotted around the island. We have used the apartments and studios on our website that come particularly recommended to us.
Platy Galios
Mousellis
When looking for apartments in Kalymnos, Mousellis in Platy Galois have recently built apartments that overlook the lovely bay of Linaria and Platy Galios. The apartments are family owned and they are clean and quiet. Mousellis taverna is very close by and the food is excellent, and the welcome you receive is wonderful.
Melitsahas

Melitsahas Beach Taverna has some great apartments to rent and they are very good value. Melitsahas village has a few tavernas and apartments and they are all very suitable. You will find locals on the beach and it is a charming little bay with a pebbly beach.
Myrties
Myrties is a quiet but popular village and it is well recommended.
Nefelis
Nefelis is a wonderful family hotel/studios and cocktail lounge. The gardens are a great place to come and relax and enjoy a wonderful breakfast, or you can have your choice of drinks in the cocktail lounge. There are 10 twin rooms that have exceptional standards and are very good value for money. Apostoli and Stratos are your hosts and they really take special care of you. If you enjoy the pool, all Nefeli's residents are welcome at Katinas taverna which is 20 metres away.
We have mentioned Nefelis on our website a few times now, it really is well recommended. It's less than 50 metres from the beach and only a few steps from many tavernas where you can still eat relatively cheaply.
Themis Hotel
The Themis Hotel is a great place where you can eat, drink and watch the sunset. The apartments are typically Greek, very clean basic and right on the beach and most welcoming.
Myrsina
This hotel/apartments is on the roadside as you first enter Myrties. It looks great from the outside and I believe the rooms are clean and very comfortable. I’ve only been to the poolside and bar, and I have been greatly impressed and entertained and it is known for being one of the best apartments in Kalymnos. There are about 40 rooms and they are all air conditioned. The hotel is about a minutes walk to the beach and is very close to some reasonably priced tavernas and café bars with good quality food. Babis - Agelica Apartments Babis is a taverna, snack bar with Agelica apartments that open onto the poolside and beach. The apartments are very well presented and this is a very popular meeting place The food is very good, and reasonably priced. Babis and the team go out of their way to help you enjoy your holiday. This taverna is on the main road through to Massouri and Armeos, and there are a couple of nice shops and restaurants on the way through. The beach is only a minute away and is clean and not too crowded.
. Massouri
Massouri is a great place to rent an apartment. Its right in the hustle and bustle and a stones throw from the beach and the beach club. But Massouri is not just for younger people, there are lots of places to relax and a drink or a meal, and one can do lots of shopping too. When we go to Massouri, I usually leave Colin in Stelios’s having a pre-dinner drink while I visit the lovely little gift and clothes boutiques, before enjoying a meal in one of the lovely tavernas. Stelios's is frequented by rock climbers and his prices are great.
Plaza Hotel  | | Plaza Hotel, Massouri, Kalymnos | The Plaza Hotel is a lovely hotel and was totally renovated in 2008. It has a wonderful pool with a cafe attached for your convenience and the drinks and snacks are very reasonably priced. The poolside snack bar is open all lunch time and only closes when the last of the pool visitors leave. The hotel runs on a B&B basis, and the breakfast is very good, in fact no, its excellent. Whether it will do evening dinner this year, I'm not sure, but there are more than enough good restaurants and tavernas to dine in. We have stayed in the Plaza Hotel, Massouri lots of times so I can highly recommend it.
Armeos
Armeos lends itself to rock climbers, as it is in close proximity to the steep rocks along the road-side that everyone loves to climb. Still close to the sea, and to friendly bars and tavernas and a short walk to the shops in Massouri.
Arginonta
There are two or three little tavernas that do rooms at Arginonta. They are bright and clean. One is called Katrinas and the other is Sea Breeze. The food is very good at both of these establishments. If you have a vehicle, Arginonta is easy to get to, just follow the road through Massouri.
Emporios
Emporios is right at the end of the road, a little cul-de-sac that opens out unto the blue Aegean sea. Two tiny beaches, lay either side of the little jetty where the fishermen moor their tiny fishing boats after trying half the night to net a catch and most of the morning.
Out of all the apartments in Kalymnos, the rooms in Emporios are furthest away from the hustle and bustle of life. The most peaceful.
Artistico Although the apartments of Artistico are not the cheapest you can acquire, they are modern and chic fresh bright and clean, and very relaxing. 25 metres from the beach and the food is really good. Irene and George are wonderful hosts and George can be heard most nights serenading with his wonderful sweet romantic music. A really good holiday for those who are looking to get away from it all.

Harry’s Apartments in Emporios, Kalymnos are run by Avdokia and her Mum Aleka. Surrounded by lush gardens and relaxing seating areas under the cooling shade of years old citrus trees. The apartments are the prettiest and most soothing ever.
We had the good fortune to stay at Harry’s and we had the best time ever. Just a tiny walk down to the beach, and little shop or you can have a morning coffee at one of the little tavernas. Or you may decide to get up for brunch and Evdokia and Mum will see to your every need. |
