Faliraki Rhodes is on the east coast and is a lovely coastal resort with a great beach. Visitors to Faliraki Rhodes are usually young, single people who come for the night life and fun and late bars.
Although there is lots of fun things to do, this is not a place to stay if you don’t enjoy this sort of thing, but there are quieter places outside the main square.
Having said that, Faliraki have a great themed water park, the biggest inEurope, which is a great place to bring the children for some aqua fun. Faliraki Rhodes is one of the most popular resorts on the island of Rhodes.
Mainly popular with 18-30 holiday makers, there are parts of the resort that cater for families with young children. Personally its not a place that I enjoy going, but then I'm a bit of a fogie! However the beach is quite lovely and the tavernas and cafe bars that surround the beach do good food at reasonable prices. The main square in the resort is lined with palm trees and has a McDonald's at its core. Ideal for the families who want a quick bite.
The roadsides are full of scooters and bikes and a plenty of things to see and is just off the beach. The beach itself is lined with blue and white parasols and sunbeds and if you don't mind the crowds then you will enjoy it.
The water is warm and inviting and ideal if you want to swim off the hangover from the previous evening. There are a lot of really nice hotels and the Greek people are very accommodating and easy going. But don't mistake their easy going nature for stupidity. These people are hard working and deserve your respect.
The Beach
The beach at Faliraki is lovely, quite long and sandy and full of blue and white parasols and sun loungers, most of them you have to pay unless its included in your holiday hotel. The beach does get busy, but it is still a great place to swim away your hangover from the last evenings entertainment. Most people love water sports, and those that visit Faliraki Rhodes will not be disappointed, the water sports are great. If you want somewhere a little less crowded, then the Kathara beach is for you, just a little further along the coast.
The Water Park
The water park is on the outskirt of Faliraki and is superb for all the family. You can catch a free ride from the beach in Rhodes town or if you are in Faliraki, some hotels put on free transport, check when you book for details. The price is 20 Euros or free for children under 3, children over 3 - 12 are charged 15 Euros. Life guards and medical teckies are at your service.
