There are some wonderful Greek recipes available, each Greek island has its own unique take on certain greek food recipes, and all of them so scrumptious, from Greek salad recipes to Greek cookie recipes, and even Greek rice pudding recipes, as well as traditional Greek recipes.



So many of you have written to us, asking about your favourite recipe Greek style, that we hope to accommodate your enquiries.

Greek Pasta Salad Recipes

Greek Pasta Salad - Orzo Salad


Orzo Pasta looks a little like long grain rice, and is most versatile. I've seen this Greek pasta accompany stews and roast lamb, and I've also seen it with curry; I like it best served as a pasta salad. This recipe ingredient list is for 8 people, hope you enjoy.

1 large cup of uncooked Orzo pasta
2 tomatoes, chopped as desired usually about half inch pieces
Half cucumber peeled and chopped
1 small red onion chopped
1 pepper, red, green or orange also chopped
Half a cup of mixed oregano, and parsley, chopped.
One block of feta cheese, whole or crumbled

Make the dressing with the following ingredients; half a cup of red wine vinegar, half a teaspoon of sugar,
salt and pepper and half cup of extra virgin olive oil

Place orzo pasta into a pan of boiling water and cook as directed by instructions on packet.

Leave to Cool, then place into serving dish.

Mix together the chopped tomatoes, cucumber, onion, and pepper and add to cooled pasta.
Place the feta on top of pasta salad mixture and dress with chopped herbs.
Drizzle over the dressing. this can be served immediately or put in the refrigerator until needed. This Greek pasta salad is traditionally served with Greek olives.

Greek Chicken Pasta Salad


This Pasta salad makes a deliciously filling meal and there is enough ingredients to feed 4 people.

1/4 cup (50 mL) olive oil
1 1/2 tbsp (25 mL) lemon juice
half cup of fresh oregano and parsley, chopped
1 garlic clove, chopped
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise
1-1/2 cups (375 mL) penne pasta,, or bow tie cooked, drained
1 cup (250 mL) crumbled Feta cheese, (optional)
1 cup (250 mL) diced tomato
1 cup (250 mL) seedless cucumber, diced
1/2 cup (125 mL) each sliced pitted black olives
1/2 cup (125 mL) green pepper,or cooked green beans, sliced.



2 chopped spring onions, Salt and pepper
2 cooled cooked chicken breasts, thinly sliced or cubed.

In a blender place oil, lemon juice, half the oregano and parsley, mayonnaise and garlic.

Cover and blend at high speed until mixture is creamy.

In large salad bowl, combine pasta, Feta cheese, tomato, cucumber, olives, green pepper, the rest of the parsley and oregano, onions and sliced chicken.

Pour in creamy dressing and toss well. Add salt and pepper to taste. Chill before serving to enhance the flavours.
