Kalymnos HotelsWhen you are looking for Kalymnos hotels, there are some good quality, great value, livelier family hotels and there are Kalymnos hotels which cater for couples, or friends who want a quieter or more relaxed place to stay. We hope to give you a good choice of accommodation to suit everyone’s requirements, from the lovely port of Pothia, to Emporios, the beautiful quiet harbour village at the far end of the island, the away from it all destination. We have tried to put them into price and location on the island, so that you are within short distance from your favourite beach or restaurants. We have used the hotels, apartments and studios on our website that come particularly recommended to us. POTHIA Villa Themalina Hotel The Themalina Hotel is a family run, hotel just a short walk from the hustle and bustle of Pothia town. We first stayed here in January 2006, before we moved into our home in Vigles. The room we stayed in had heating and air conditioning, as I think most do. 
The building is a beautiful old rambling house, traditionally decorated in the old Greek town style, located in Evagelistria side of Pothia. The rooms are warm and have tv in every room and the breakfast is on a fairly large scale, though not typically English, fruit, cereals, cold meats, cheeses and delicious pastries. This particular Kalymnos hotel was quiet when we stayed there, although I can imagine it being much livelier in the summer. It has and outdoor swimming pool and a lovely garden with quiet shaded patios here and there. Themalina herself is warm and inviting, and her children are on hand to interpret if you can’t speak the language. It’s a five minute walk to the lively harbour side where there is an abundance of seafood restaurants and quaint tavernas. Hotel Panorama So called because of its views of the port. Although We've not stayed here, the rooms, 14 in all, are well decorated and the closeness of the harbour makes it very handy for shops, the beach and the cafes and restaurants, making this one of the Kalymnos hotels that is very popular. KANTOUNI Kantouni Beach Hotel The Kantouni Beach Hotel is very well known and very popular. The rooms are really nice and the hotel has a great pool and there always something going on at the pool bar. The pool and pool bar is right on the beach and it is a lovely beach. Their clients go back year after year, so its a bit like a reunion of family around the pool of an evening. Its a great [place to call in on and have a drink but a bit too busy for me personally to stay. MYRTIES Hotel Myrsina This hotel is on the roadside as you first enter Myrties. It looks great from the outside and I believe the rooms are clean and very comfortable. I’ve only been to the poolside and bar, and I have been greatly impressed and entertained. There are about 40 rooms and they are all air conditioned. The hotel is about a minutes walk to the beach and is very close to some of the better tavernas and café bars in Myrties. Nefeli Bar and Studios The Nefeli Bar and Studios is a small hotel and is one of the nicest Kalymnos hotels. It is run by two brothers who are well known across the island for their high standard of service and impeccable attention to detail. The Themis Hotel and RestaurantThe Themis Hotel is a great find on the Melitsahas road at Myrties. It is the combination of good food and lovely location, right on the beach, and a really great place to relax.MASSOURI Plaza Hotel We have stayed at the Plaza a number of times over the years and it does seem to get better. The breakfasts are great and the rooms are clean and comfortable and all have air conditioning. There is a great laid back atmosphere at the Plaza and I recommend to anyone. 
Out of all the Kalymnos hotels, the Plaza have fairly reasonable facilities and the pool area is a great place to spend your more lazier afternoons, relaxing on comfy sunbeds and going for a dip in the enticing pool. The poolside bar is very good for snacks and meals, the choice of menu and drinks is great. Teresa was the lady who took great care of you in the afternoons, but she has moved on to a different Kalymnos hotel, which is a shame for the Plaza. We would always say, let’s go visit Teresa and have a cocktail and something to eat! This summer there has been significant changes at the Plaza, we can report. Renovations are in process. It’s great to see, as it is a smart hotel and its right on Massouri beach. EMPORIOS Harry’s Paradise HotelEmporios is at the far end of the island and is about 24 kilometres from Pothia. Harry’s is one of my favourite Kalymnos hotels. There are, I believe just six large studio rooms which are decorated every spring in readiness for the guests. They also have a little one floor house which can sometimes be rented and it is lovingly decorated. I’ve mentioned Harry’s place before, it is the best getaway on the island in my opinion, and you can enjoy breakfast in the lovely garden area, or make your own breakfast and eat on your terrace, watching the sun come up over the sea. Dine in or out, it’s up to you! Artistico This is a lovely restaurant and it has rooms to stay if you want to get away from it all. Irene and George are the proprietors and they will make you feel very welcome. The food is not as cheap as some of the other places to eat in Emporios, but the dishes are excellent and they sometimes have entertainment which can go on long into the night.
