Kos accommodation is available all over the island with a varied selection, particularly in the coastal resorts.
Kos is a great island, and your holiday will be memorable, especially when you have arrived at the Kos accommodation of your choice. It all depends of course, on your budget, but even if your finances don't run to 5* all inclusive, there are some great low budget hotels and apartments that are warm and welcoming, and extremely good value for money.
Whether you are booking your own flights and Kos accommodation, or you're booking through a holiday company, the information here will help you with your choice.
Kos Town
Kos Town is a wonderful destination which offers all round activities and attractions, whether its ancient Greek culture or waterfront cafe bars and sandy beaches to relax on, or sipping your favourite tipple beside the lovely pool in your 5* hotel. There are two beaches in Kos town, one concentrates on water activity and and has a sandy beach, the other is a pebbly beach, so don't forget your jellies (water shoes). In the evening, there is a full on night life, so if this is your idea of a good holiday, go for it. As far as Kos accommodation goes, if you want it quieter, avoid the two so-called "bar streets" of Nafklirou and nearby Diakon. If you are not sure, ask before you book.
Hotels
Alexandra Hotel 'A' class recently refurbished to a top quality hotel, very popular with visitors. Buffet style breakfast with great choice and quality food. Very close to all amenities and only 200 metres from the harbour. Super quality and well recommended so if you want Kos accommodation that is 1st class, look no further.
The Hotel Oceanis*** is just outside of Kos Town 5 km) in the village of Aghios Focus, heading towards Psalidi. Couples love it here and so do the younger people, its very close to the beach and it is set in heavenly grounds. The poolside sunbeds are free and there is also a sea water pool. The restaurant is buffet style, although there is a full a la carte restaurant. There is a poolside bar and a good taverna and a supermarket for all you other requirements. For the children there is a separate pool and a kids club. Family rooms are available so ask when you book your Kos accommodation.
Yiorgos Hotel ** is in Kos Town and near the marina, which is a little quieter than in the harbour area. This is a family run hotel and is a 10 minute walk from the harbour. There is still plenty of tavernas and bars nearby so you are still in the thick of it.
Leonidis Hotel and Studios near Lambi (can't find * rating) by all accounts this is a good hotel clean and great value for money. The hotel is fairly new so still fresh and only 800 metres from the sandy beach. A lot quieter here as it is away from the main part of Kos town, so this would be my choice. The only complaint that I have read about this place is that some of the rooms don't have a view. Most of the rooms have air conditioning, but check when you book your Kos accommodation if you want to be sure it is air conditioned.
Apartments
St Constantine Apartments*** are just in Kos Town and near to the shingle/pebbly beach, ideal for lazing on the beach and swimming in the lovely blue Aegean. The patrons of these apartments are usually young free and single and can be quite noisy coming home in the early morning so bear this in mind when booking your Kos accommodation, especially if you have young children, or don't enjoy being woken up half way through the night. After saying that, it is modern and well equipped so the choice is yours.

Aslanis Village Apartments** are ideal for an away from it all holiday in a tranquil location with a delightful garden and exotic shrubs. Although there are only 10 staff it is very well run and the staff are all superb. The rooms are clean and well presented. The beach is about 7 minutes away, and the pool is great. The site is fairly small with only one restaurant, but the town of Marmari is only about 15 minutes away, as is the resort of Tinsgaki which is a great resort with lots of bars and restaurants.

Kardamena
Kardamena is a great place for the young ones. Its very lively and quite touristy. Nevertheless, if you go outside the main part of Kardamena it is a lot quieter.
Evripides Village Hotel**** This is a village complex which is well thought of by all accounts. It is made up of (82) hotel, suites and apartments. Its about 2.5 kilometres away from the main Kardamena town and has quiet surroundings, I'm told. Some of the facilities is has are mentioned here.
adults swimming pool
childrens swimming pool
pool bar
games room
water sports centre (500 metres)
restaurant for breakfast
The hotel is only 150 metres from the beach and the beach is very good.
Olympia Mare Hotel** is outside the resort of Kardamena on a quiet stretch of beach. It's a family run business small and comfortable and ideal for families or couples on a budget. The rooms come with refrigerator and hot plates for cooking and an oven. Most of the rooms have air conditioning, again, check when booking. The rooms have sea view and balconies.

Mastichari
There are really good 5* hotels at this destination and they are well recommended. There are also delightful smaller hotels, most are family run, who work very hard to make their hotel one of the best on the island.
Mastichari Bay Hotel**** has absolutely great facilities. Apart from being right on the beach, this 5* Kos accommodation is special, particularly if you are having a family holiday. Its a great hotel for kids and they will have a wonderful time. The rooms are very well presented and the food is very good and lots of choice. Yes, its not always as hot as it could be, but Greek people don't have their food piping hot, that is our tradition, not theirs. The hotel is only about 10 minutes from the airport across the island.
There is always entertainment for the children and the swimming pool is fab. There is a gym, whirlpool, table tennis, billiards and tennis court. The gardens are beautifully manicured and the flowers smell great.
Achilleas Hotel***** This hotel is quite new and is quite special. It is classed as an A* and is on the beautiful beach nest to the resort of Mastichari. about 5 kilometres from the airport and has 345 hotel rooms with en-suite facilities and lovely balconies or terrace. There is different entertainment on and a disco on some nights. They also do All inclusive.
The pool is a great size and the pool-bar serves all sorts of wonderful cocktails as well as a regular bar service.
The Waves Hotel, otherwise known as Hotel Kyma** This is a beach hotel in every sense of the word. When we first started going to Waves, it was run by John's Mum and Papa Mamas. Now John and his lovely wife Joanne run the hotel on behalf of the family. The rooms are spotless and there is a large kitchen were you can use all the facilities and there is a roof terrace that overlooks the sandy beach. The hotel is right on the beach and 2 minutes from the main street and all the tavernas and cafe bars. I can't rate this too high, Wave is great, spotless and so reasonable.
